Why We Recommend Standard-Efficiency Systems

Most HVAC contractors push premium, high-SEER equipment because the margins are higher. We take a different approach. For the majority of Alabama homes, a standard-efficiency system — like the Trane XR14 — delivers the best long-term value. Here's why:

Replacing a 15-year-old system with a 14.3 SEER2 unit gives you a 40–50% efficiency improvement at the lowest equipment cost. Premium systems (18+ SEER2) cost significantly more upfront, use proprietary parts that are expensive to repair, and rarely pay back the difference in energy savings within the warranty period.

We'll run the numbers with you so you can see the math yourself. If a premium system genuinely makes sense for your situation, we'll tell you. But we won't recommend it just because it's the more expensive option.

Our Installation Process

Equipment We Install

Our preferred brand is Trane, and it's what we recommend for most installations. We prioritize Trane for three specific reasons: their compressors are among the most reliable in the industry, their manufacturer support is excellent when we need it, and their parts are widely available — which means faster repairs and lower costs down the road if something ever does go wrong. For most homes, the Trane XR series hits the right balance of performance, reliability, and value.

We also install Goodman and American Standard systems. Both brands share the same strengths we look for — quality compressors, solid manufacturer support, and parts that are easy to source. The right choice depends on your home, your budget, and your priorities, and we'll walk you through the differences so you can make an informed decision.

Every system we install uses commodity components that any qualified technician can service. We don't lock you into proprietary equipment that limits your options later.
